HOW MAINHOME WORKS

From a household job
to a clear next step.

Mainhome connects homeowners with independent local businesses. Book around nearby availability or request help with a job of your own.

1. Find a service

Read what is generally included and check real published offers for your area.

2. Review your options

View an offer or submit a request without registration. Eligible businesses can respond with questions, a quote and availability.

3. Agree and book

Review the scope, price, date and conditions. Acceptance advances into the ordinary booking process. Follow its confirmation and payment steps.

Useful answers before you book

No nearby offer — can I still request a service?

Yes. Every supported service has a request form. We try to match suitable eligible businesses. If nobody matches, your request remains available for Mainhome follow-up. A response or appointment is not guaranteed.

Is the price fixed, hourly or quoted?

The service guide explains its pricing model. A live offer shows the business’s actual published options. Your selected size, extras and access can affect the agreed scope. Hourly quotes show the rate and estimated hours; individual quotes cover the stated work. Review conditions before accepting.

When do I pay a deposit?

Submitting a service enquiry takes no payment and creates no confirmed booking. After the required booking checks and approval, the current booking flow normally requests an A$30 deposit, credited against the bill, unless waived. Your booking shows the actual amount, payment method and balance. Follow those instructions and review the details before paying.

Who processes payment?

The payment page or booking instructions identify the business, amount and payment method. Where configured, card payments use Stripe and the business’s connected account. Some bookings use the business’s supplied payment instructions. Never send payment simply to submit an enquiry.

Is a neighbour discount guaranteed?

No blanket saving is advertised. Check the individual offer’s published price and any stated comparison. A business working nearby may offer convenient appointments; there may be no current offer for your area.

Do I need to be home?

That depends on the service and access. Agree arrangements with the business, including gates, pets, water, power, keys and any indoor access. Tell them if someone needs to be present.

What does verification mean?

Offer badges describe recorded checks, such as ABN and public liability insurance. Relevant licence checks apply to restricted work. Checks are a point-in-time review and do not guarantee workmanship. Review the business and scope before booking.

How do I track, reschedule or cancel?

Use the private tracking link sent for your request or booking, or open My bookings. Review the applicable cancellation terms, amounts and refund information shown for your booking before confirming a change. Your Australian Consumer Law rights continue to apply.

Who sees my request?

Mainhome and eligible invited businesses receive information needed to assess and fulfil your request, subject to the sharing conditions. Public maps show approximate offer areas, not private customer addresses. Keep your private tracking link secure. Read our privacy information.

How do I get help?

Use support chat or the contact form. Leave a message and contact details if we are away. Support is not advertised as a continuously staffed live service.
